Healed In His Name

Acts 3:6-8
Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them – walking, leaping, and praising God. (NKJV)

As Peter and John entered the Temple they saw a man crippled from birth. He was over 40 years old (Acts 4:22) and had never had the use of his legs. He was carried to the Temple each day that he might beg for money. There is no telling how many times Jesus had walked past the same man, but today was his day. Peter, moved by the Holy Spirit, stopped and spoke to the man. He simply said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” (NKJV). Notice what Peter said, In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He used the full name and title of Jesus! Second, Peter did not pray – But commanded the man to rise and walk.

Dropping down to verse 16, And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. The crippled man had no idea he was about to be healed – he had no faith to be healed – but he was healed!

It was the faith that Peter had in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth that shot like a lightening bolt from Peter’s hand into the man’s leg’s and feet Peter did not just know the name of Jesus – he had faith IN THAT NAME! Peter had no doubt whatsoever that when he invoked the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth the man would rise up and walk – and he did! Shut down the doubt that tries to creep in and exercise the Name that is Above Every name! Peter did not just think – he was absolutely convinced the authority of the NAME OF JESUS was stronger than the man’s affliction. His faith trust, confidence and expectation in the NAME released the miracle the man needed to be made whole!
